Michael Schumacher is a seven-time Formula One Champion and widely regarded as being the greatest driver of all time. The 50-year-old was involved in a serious skiing accident in 2013 which caused serious injury. The mystery surrounding the event has only been heightened by the lack of information published since the tragic event.
The truth is that nobody really knows. Schumacher was a very private individual during his racing career and did not discuss anything related to his personal life. His family and representatives have honoured his wishes up to this date.
Judging by the little information which we do know about Schumacher, he is not the same person that he was during his racing career. In September 2016, Schumacher’s lawyer Felix Damm told a court in Germany that his client ”can not walk” in response to false claims published by German publication Die Bunte. They claimed that the former Ferrari stalwart could walk a couple of steps.
So judging by what we know, Schumacher is not the person most fans will remember. It’s unfortunate that fans are not being updated on his condition but we should celebrate him for the person that he once was.
There was to be no fairytale ending to his career in 2010 when he came out of retirement. However, he will always be best known for his dominance throughout a whole era of Formula 1 racing, with seven title wins in the space of 11 seasons and extraordinary battles with Damon Hill quite possibly the highlight.
There is currently a lot of speculation going on about the German’s condition. Some speculate that it is actually good while many naturally assume the worst. The truth is that as far as we know, nobody knows, with Michael’s likely wishes in mind from his family’s perspective.
