Batista expected to clash with Triple H following WWE return

Share

Film star and semi-retired pro wrestler Batista has this week made his return to WWE, where he is expected to face Triple H in an upcoming match.

The 50-year-old resurfaced last night at WWE Monday Night Raw, where he attacked the legendary Ric Flair, who was celebrating his 70th birthday – thus cementing himself as a heel on his return to the company. Batista has previously indicated at making one final run in the WWE by working as a heel against Triple H, so this could be his final run in the business.

It appears that a match between the two will likely take place at this year’s WrestleMania. Batista appeared to attack Flair in order to gain the attention of Triple H. “The Nature Boy” acted as a mentor to both men in Evolution and there is no secret that the WWE executive regards the 70-year-old as being one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time.

It remains to be seen how the now-chief operating officer of WWE will react to what happened. Last night, Triple H rushed backstage to enact revenge on Batista, but he had already left the scene. Triple H is not one to let transgressions slide so it is unlikely that the Animal will get away with this easily.

Meanwhile, Roman Reigns appeared on WWE TV last week and announced that his leukaemia was in remission. He joined former Shield stablemate Seth Rollins and assisted Dean Ambrose to take down Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, Elias and Baron Corbin.

It looks like we could certainly be set to see one of the best WrestleManias in recent years. This will likely be the last ever match for Batista, who will be looking to make amends for his critically panned previous return to the company in 2013.
