The preparations for the new season continue as we approach the 2019 NFL Draft, with teams waiting to see the performances from the top stars at the 2019 NFL Combine as well as the individual performances at their college Pro Days.

With that in mind, TSR has put together an early 2019 NFL Draft Mock Draft, featuring the top ten picks based on the needs of the teams currently slotted in the current draft order.

1. Arizona Cardinals, Quinnen Williams

After a horrible season in 2018, the Cardinals could be in the market for a number of options to help solidify their roster. While a trade back in the first round would allow the Cardinals to acquire some additional picks, if they remain with the first pick the team will look to solidify their defensive line. In the end, Williams might be the most polished of the defensive lineman and one that could help turn around the Cardinals defense.

2. San Francisco 49ers, Nick Bosa

If Bosa slips past the Cardinals it will be nearly impossible for the 49ers to pass them up despite a need at various other positions. While at Ohio State, Bosa showcased his ability to make plays against the run and pass while recording 17 sacks in just 30 contests. Along with his ability to stop both the run and pass, Bosa is a sure tackler who doesn’t allow players to break tackles.

3. New York Jets, D.K. Metcalf

Drafting solely off of needs would land the Jets looking to solidify either the running back or wide receiver position after addressing the need for a quarterback during the 2018 NFL Draft. While Josh Jacobs would be a great fit, the rumors have the Jets looking to Le’Veon Bell during free agency. That said, Metcalf could help solidify a Jets receiving corps that had just one receiver catch more than 40 passes (Robby Anderson, 50 receptions) and zero receivers with more than 800 yards.

4. Oakland Raiders, Josh Jacobs

The Raiders holding three picks in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft should make for an interesting day for the organization as well as for the fans. While Josh Allen, Clelin Ferrell and Rashan Gary are still on the board, the team fills a gaping hole at running back. Depending on how the NFL Combine and Pro Days go this pick could go a few directions.

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Josh Allen

Much like a few of the other teams, the Buccaneers have holes that need filling, including finding a playmaker at the running back position as well as the need for defensive line help and players in the secondary. In the end, Allen being left on the board makes it an easy selection for the Buccaneers. During his senior season, Allen continued to develop posting career highs in tackles for a loss 21.5 and sacks with 17.

6. New York Giants, Dwayne Haskins

On a team like the Giants who have All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham locked up for the long haul and 2019 NFL Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley at running back, the team needs to find a young stud quarterback to take over as early as the 2019 NFL season depending on what the team elects to do with veteran quarterback Eli Manning. After watching the production of Lamar Jackson in 2018, it would be hard for the Giants to use the pick on any other quarterback other than Haskins. Haskins has the ability to make nearly every throw and can make plays with his feet when needed.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars, Kyler Murray

After a disappointing 2018 NFL campaign, the Jaguars could look to add a variety of weapons through the draft including a guy like Clelin Ferrell, Rashan Gary or even Christian Wilkins. That said, the biggest hole the Jagaurs continue to face each season is at the quarterback as Blake Bortles continues to be an up and down play. Now that Murray has committed to football moving forward, he could be an interesting option for a Jaguars team that has a solid defense and a few key players on offense.

8. Detroit Lions, Clelin Ferrell

Could the Lions be in the market for a quarterback during the 2019 NFL Draft, the answer is yes, but would they take advantage of that with the eighth pick in the draft? Based on the picks ahead of them, Ferrell being on the board simply makes the pick for the Lions. Ferrell is a polished lineman who can both make plays against the rush or the pass while having a solid move to get to the quarterback.

9. Buffalo Bills, Cody Ford

After spending a draft pick on quarterback Josh Allen during last seasons draft, now the Bills will need to work on landing weapons around him to help him succeed. This includes bolstering the team’s offensive line. Ford, as well as guys like Jonah Williams, Greg Little and Jawaan Taylor, could help set up a line to protect Allen. The team could also look to both the wide receiver and running back positions to give Allen other weapons on the offensive side of the ball.

10. Denver Broncos, Daniel Jones

Despite landing Joe Flacco in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens, the Broncos could be in the market to find a reliable and solid quarterback to be the future of the franchise while learning under Flacco. While Jones is a gamble pick this early in the draft, the quarterback is a difficult pick to wait on as a big run could happen at any point during the first round. While Jones is more of a second-round pick talent, he will not make it to the Broncos in round two.
