Top stars of the 2019 NFL Draft class

Share

The 2018 NFL draft class made an immediate impact on the landscape of the NFL, led by the talented group of stars that put together impressive rookie campaigns; a group that included five members of the first round that played themselves on to the Pro Bowl teams. Those stars included potential Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Saquon Barkley and potential Defensive Rookie of the Year Derwin James, as well as Denzel Ward, Quenton Nelson and Leighton Vander Esch.

Along with those players, the 2018 NFL rookie class featured five first-round quarterbacks, who all took over in 2018, including Baker Mayfield, who had the Cleveland Browns one win away from an 8-8 season and Lamar Jackson, who led the Baltimore Ravens to the playoffs. As we turn to the 2019 NFL Draft, this year’s class looks loaded with studs on the defensive side of the ball, with a few talented offensive options.

After an impressive 2018 NFL Draft, the big question leading into the 2019 NFL Draft in Tennessee in April is who are some of the top names of the class? Here are a few of the top stars of the 2019 NFL Draft class.

Quinnen Williams, Defensive Lineman – The Alabama Crimson Tide should see at least three of their star players from this year’s team go within the first 10 to 15 picks, led by Williams. Williams is a force in the middle of the defense and one that can disrupt offensive game plans in both stopping the run and putting pressure up the middle on the quarterback – along with Williams, Jonah Williams and Deionte Thompson.

Kyler Murray, Quarterback – The quarterback class is a little questionable behind Murray and Dwayne Haskins. That said, after watching the performance that Mayfield put on during the 2018 NFL season, it is hard to not imagine Murray being the first if not second quarterback taken in the 2019 NFL Draft. While Murray has the arm and the talent to be a talented star, the question of his height (5’10’’) may have teams turn to him in the second or third round.

N’Keal Harry, Wide Receiver – Harry is one of a few talented receivers in this year’s draft including D.K. Metcalf, A.J. Brown and Marquise Brown. While all four could flip flop each other before the draft with a solid NFL combine performance. That said Harry is a big strong physical receiver that will have teams looking to take him early to give them a playmaking threat and red zone threat. He also has the speed to be a threat in the running game on end arounds, on returns as well as under center in a creative offensive attack.

Damien Harris, Running Back – With no sure cut top running back in this year’s draft class, Harris has the ability to be a big-time threat in the NFL. Harris possesses the ability to make plays on the ground but also has the potential to make plays with his hands as well in the passing game. Along with his ability to make plays, Harris can also block making him a potential threat to help open up a team’s passing attack.

Other top players in the 2019 NFL Draft Class include Dexter Lawrence, Devin White, Josh Allen, Julian Love, Irv Smith Jr, Cody Ford and Nick Bosa.
