The eyes of all the fans and experts are paying close attention to the upcoming 2019 NFL season, but for some the early look at the 2020 NFL free agent class has already begun.
A list that could include a long list of veterans nearing the end of their careers. This includes former Hall of Famers Drew Brees and Tom Brady, as well as other veteran quarterbacks Eli Manning and Phillip Rivers. Alnog with those stars, names like Jadeveon Clowney, Grady Jarrett and Amari Cooper could all hit the market.
While the list if long, many expect guys like Brees, Rivers and Brady to extend current deals with their respective clubs while continuing to find their future quarterback. With that said, here are a few of the key young free agents who should draw a ton of attention during the 2020 NFL free agency period, if they fail to land a new deal before that time.
After seeing his production drop during the early part of the 2018 NFL season with the Oakland Raiders, Coopers big deal was slowly decreasing in dollar value. After rebounding after his trade to the Dallas Cowboys and a potential to post big time numbers during the 2019 NFL season could make him one of the hottest names during the free agency period at a position that teams spend heavy at.
In an ERA where the quarterback is paid the most on the field, it is key to have a great offensive line. While Collins might not be the best right tackle in the NFL, he has showed his ability to block at a high level with the Cowboys while protecting Dak Prescott and opening holes for the likes of Ezekiel Elliott.
After putting together his season in his career, Gordon should see a long term deal with the Los Angeles Chargers prior to the 2020 NFL season. If not, we could see the team elect to trade him before losing him to free agency. Nonetheless, Gordon is a name to watch over the next few months.
