NFL Draft: Which undrafted star will break out?

Share

The 2019 NFL Draft provided a long list of top young stars to watch next season including the likes of Kyler Murray, Quinnen Williams and Nick Bosa, yet many great college football players failed to hear their names called and could yet break out this season.

While the chances to find a star after the NFL draft is very unlikely, the opportunity and chance is there for any of the NFL teams around the league.

This was the case for the Denver Broncos after they signed Phillip Lindsay after the 2018 NFL draft. Lindsay posted 1,037 yards on the ground to go with nine touchdowns, whilst adding 241 receiving yards and one touchdown overall. Along with Lindsay, other great stars over the years include Hall of Famers John Randle, Warren Moon and Kurt Warner.

Tyree Jackson, Quarterback – It’s hard to imagine Jackson not going in the NFL draft yet the now-Buffalo Bulls quarterback did not hear his name called during the 2019 edition.

While Jackson might not get the opportunity to start, the former third round-projected quarterback will now get a chance to show his ability to run and throw whilst building up a resume for other teams around the NFL.

Karan Higdon, Running Back – Yet to find a home, former Michigan Wolverines running back Karan Higdon should find a suitor to give him an opportunity during the next few weeks leading up to the 2019 NFL season.

Higdon has solid vision and speed to help him make plays, posting just a 4.49 40-yard dash time.

David Sills, Wide Receiver – Here’s another rising that didn’t hear his name called, yet ended up with the Buffalo Bills. Sills has the speed and size to be the next unknown wide receiver to make plays at the NFL’s level next season. While he might not stick long term with the Bills, it wouldn’t be a surprise should the former West Virginia star to land a long-term home before the end of summer.
