Lerrone Richards will face former British and Commonwealth middleweight champion Tommy Langford for the vacant Commonwealth and WBO International super-middleweight titles on April 27, per British Boxing News.
Richards has only fought three fighters with winning records during his five-year pro career, and the SSE Arena, Wembley showdown will mark his first appearance in the ring for over a year.
Langford, meanwhile, has fought 50 rounds during that time. The ‘Baggies Bomber’ has spent the last decade of his career at middleweight, but stepped up to 168lbs on March 9, earning a 58-56 nod over Baptiste Castegnaro at Walsall Town Hall.
Back-to-back defeats to local rival Jason Welborn prompted the move up in weight for the former WBO number two, who recently admitted that he had been struggling to compete at maximum capacity at 160 lbs.
Elsewhere on the card, which will air live on BT Sport, Daniel Dubois headlines against WBO No.14 ranked Richard Lartey, with which also features WBO super lightweight number-one contender Jack Catterall set to box a ten-round contest before he faces champion Maurice Hooker later in the year as mandatory challenger.
Tickets are priced at £40, £50, £75, £100 and £150 and are on sale now at tommylangford.com.
