Liverpool are rumoured to have joined Borussia Dortmund in the race for Borussia Monchengladbach winger, Thorgan Hazard.
The younger brother of Eden, Thorgan has been making the headlines across Europe this season as Die Fohlen push for a Champions League place in the Bundesliga. Currently standing high on the list for assists and goals, the Belgian international has already been a part of the Premier League before when he joined Chelsea in 2012, but failed to make a first-team appearance.
With Dortmund already in the race, they look like the current favourites for Hazard – a move which he could prefer, considering his settled life in Germany. Reports in Belgium suggest that Dortmund have already made a £36m bid for Hazard and he could look more likely to make the short journey to Signal Iduna Park.
Hazard has already an impressive CV since starting within the youth ranks at French side Lens. He made the switch to England with his brother to the Blues in 2012, before two loan deals with Zulte Waregem and Monchengladbach, then making his move permanent in 2015. He has a Belgian Footballer of the Year award under his belt from 2014 and a third-place medal at the recent World Cup in Russia. He also has achieved 21 caps for Belgium, scoring three goals against Switzerland x2 and Cyprus in competitive competition.
Dortmund may need to shake off further potential chasers for Hazard’s signature, with Chelsea looking to re-sign the 26-year-old, potentially in place of his brother, who is looking to make a move to Real Madrid. With similar personalities and traits, any side could be making a good investment if they sign Thorgan, and the Premier League could well be the perfect place to show his worth across Europe.
