Every Big Six club’s contract expirations this summer

Share

With the season coming to an end, here comes the time for transfer rumours, bargain buys and even approaching those players who are set to leave their club for no fee come the end of June. Clubs have until June 30th to renew these contracts in order to keep the player on for next season. But, who could be leaving their respective team in the summer this year?

Arsenal

  1. Danny Welbeck
  2. Denis Suarez (option to buy)
  3. Nacho Monreal
  4. Carl Jenkinson
  5. Stephan Lichtsteiner

The Gunners are unlikely to activate the contract extensions, with Monreal, Jenkinson or Lichtensteiner this year due to a number of reasons. Whereas, Welbeck’s situation could be reignited having recently revealed that he could gain a new deal from boss Unai Emery.

Chelsea

  1. Gonzalo Higuain (option to buy)
  2. Mateo Kovacic (end of loan)
  3. David Luiz
  4. Olivier Giroud
  5. Gary Cahill
  6. Willy Caballero
  7. Robert Green

Chelsea’s aging squad looks to become a lot younger this season as all look likely to be leaving the door in June. Higuain’s situation could also be shallow, with the Argentinian set to stay with Juventus next season.

Liverpool

  1. James Milner
  2. Daniel Sturridge
  3. Alberto Moreno
  4. Connor Randall

There is no doubt that many Liverpool fans would love to see James Milner sign on for next season and that could still become a possibility. Whereas Sturridge and Moreno could be a hefty wage bill deduction following their free transfer links to Leicester City and Barcelona respectively.

Manchester City

  1. Vincent Kompany

‘Mr Manchester City’ looks to be given a contract extension and would want nothing less. The Belgian has been at the Etihad since 2008 and those 11 years look to be extended.

Manchester United

  1. David De Gea
  2. Ander Herrera
  3. Juan Mata
  4. Matteo Darmian
  5. Andreas Pereira
  6. Antonio Valencia

The only certain noticeable will be for De Gea to activate the ‘further year’ clause, just to add to his enormous price tag for Real Madrid.

Tottenham Hotspur

  1. Fernando Llorente
  2. Michel Vorm

The two veterans look to be leaving Spurs this season. Llorente looks more likely than Vorm to stop but neither are a guarantee.
