Tottenham star Moussa Sissoko has surprisingly claimed that club teammate Son Heung-Min is the greatest player of all time.
Sissoko arrived at Tottenham during the summer of 2016 from Newcastle. Whilst at the Magpies, he showed signs that he could blossom into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and this was what ultimately led to the Lilywhites recruiting him. After arriving at Spurs, the Frenchman initially struggled to find form during his first two seasons at the club. He even went from being a first-team regular for the French national team to being a squad member. There was talk in England that Spurs were prepared to sell Sissoko for the right price and many fans would even have wanted him to leave.
However, he remained and Mauricio Pochettino opted to keep faith in him. The 29-year-old has certainly blossomed into one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season and he was one of Spurs’ most-valued players this term. He was ever-present for the North Londoners this season, making 43 appearances in all competitions.
Sissoko recently hosted a question and answer session on Instagram and was inundated with questions from fans. One Instagram user even labelled him as the greatest player of all-time, but he did not agree, pointing instead to teammate Son Heung-Min.
He also explained why he calls the South Korean “Yacou”. He said: “My cousin’s name is Yacou and Son looks like him, so that’s why I call him Yacou.”
Spurs have been accused of being a one-man team that revolves around Harry Kane at times. Son has, however, proven this season that he is more than capable of coming to the party if Kane is out injured or misfiring. This season, the 26-year-old played 31 Premier League games, scoring 12 goals and notching six assists.
