Reports: Ronda Rousey will NOT leave WWE after WrestleMania

Ronda Rousey will not be leaving WWE after this year’s WrestleMania, despite reports linking the former MMA and Hollywood star with an exit from the promotion.

Veteran journalist Dave Meltzer had earlier claimed there was a “good chance” the 31-year-old could part ways with the WWE in April this year.

Rousey has been vocal in the past in stating she wants to start a family with husband Travis Browne, himself a heavyweight UFC fighter. Meltzer’s report claimed that the former Olympic judoka had decided that now was the right time to settle down and withdraw from the spotlight.

However, TMZ Sports issued a report this evening claiming that “multiple sources” connected to Rousey had denied that she had any intentions of leaving her pro wrestling career behind after a successful one-year stint.

Moreover, a WWE spokesperson told the site that the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion was contracted to the company through “April 10, 2021”, and not April of this year as had previously been believed. The official went on to state that “whether she wants to start a family is a private matter.”

After sporadic appearances, Rousey made her WWE debut at the 2018 Royal Rumble, before going on to compete for the first time at WrestleMania 34 as part of a mixed-gender tag team match. She has since gone on to hold the promotion’s Raw Women’s Championship, adding to her accolades in judo and MMA.
