As the world’s scouts finalise their shortlists with the summer transfer window just around the corner, a Nigerian 19-year-old will be high on the list of Europe’s elite clubs.

Samuel Chukwueze has made quite the impression this season for Villarreal and rumours are rife that the winger could be on the move already this summer.

The diminutive winger has managed to get on the scoresheet three times for his Spanish side in La Liga this season, most notably when putting in a man of the match performance in the 4-4 draw against Barcelona a couple of weeks ago. Villarreal, 2-0 down at the time looked like they were in for a hard night before Chukwueze gave them a lifeline with a fine individual effort in the eight-goal thriller.

On the rise for the Super Eagles

The Nigerian made his debut for the International side in October, coming off the bench to star in his side’s 4-0 win over Libya. However, the teenager’s rise to prominence will be no surprise to Super Eagles fans who saw him lift the U17 World Cup in Chile back in 2015.

He was the standout player in his team’s remarkable success, winning the Bronze Boot and earning a chance to prove himself with Villarreal. Clearly progressing through Villarreal’s famed youth system that includes graduates such as Atheltico Madrid’s star defensive midfielder Rodrigo, it’s thought the Spanish club will be open to offers this summer in excess of €35m.

Bayern Munich lead the charge

Potential suitors include Premier League clubs Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and both Merseyside clubs while the European interest is headed by Bayern Munich who are looking for a long-term replacement for Arjen Robben. The left-footed Nigerian fits the bill with both dazzling dribbling skills and an impressive turn of foot and sources say Bayern are “ready to table a bid” and meet Villarreal’s estimation of the potential superstar.
