Former Chelsea striker Tony Cascarino has urged Liverpool to sign Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha.
The Ivory Coast international is a proven performer at Premier League level and has once again had a good season for Roy Hodgson’s side. He has scored nine goals from 33 Premier League games for the Eagles this campaign.
As quoted by The Daily Mirror, Cascarino said: “Well, all of the top-six now are playing attack-minded football.
Something that is particularly impressive about the Ivorian is that he is capable of playing in multiple positions across the frontline. Zaha could be a brilliant addition to the Reds’ first team, adding more depth to Jurgen Klopp’s side. Klopp may also be able to get the best out of him as he has done with the likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Jordan Henderson and Andrew Robertson.
Zaha is now 26-years-old and could be tempted to move away from Palace at this point of his career. He has been a good servant to the Eagles over the years and now will be the perfect time for him to move on to a club who can offer him the prospect of playing Champions League football.
Liverpool are also arguably in need of more potent cover for the likes of Salah, Firmino and Mane. Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi are largely inconsistent. The duo may also be looking to leave Anfield this summer in order to play for a club that can offer them more regular first-team action. Zaha could be a good purchase for the Reds and Klopp must consider signing him.
