Three forwards who could join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer

Share

With Daniel Sturridge looking likely to leave Liverpool in the summer, the Reds will hope they can recruit some form of backup behind the likes of Roberto Firmino, Divock Origi and Rhian Brewster. Danny Ings could also flee Anfield in hope of some first-team football, as could Ben Woodburn, seeking a loan deal – so which three forwards would be the perfect fit for Liverpool?

1. Luka Jovic

The Bosnian has been hitting the headlines all season with his 16 Bundesliga goals for Frankfurt this season and has already been linked with some of Europe’s elite. Real Madrid, Barcelona and Chelsea have already been linked with the 21-year old as his current side Eintracht Frankfurt push for a Champions League place. However, Die Adler have set a €60m price tag on Jovic in hope of luring competitors away.

2. Timo Werner

Another man who has been making the headlines in Bundesliga is Timo Werner. The Reds have been linked with the 23-year old for some time now and could leave RB Leipzig this Summer, but for the right price. The German outfit have slapped a €60m price tag on Werner but is rumoured to have begun talks with Bayern Munich for a move this summer meaning some fresh competition for Robert Lewandowski.

3. Philippe Coutinho

One for Liverpool fans to get excited about will be the return of Philippe Coutinho, with the Brazilian looking a possibility to leave Barcelona in the Summer. The Catalan giants wish to cut their wage bill at the Camp Nou with Coutinho, Ivan Rakitic, Malcom and Samuel Umtiti potentially moving elsewhere. A move could see the 26-year old move out wide for Liverpool if ever one of the ‘front three’ become injured. After selling him for a reported £142m deal in January 2018, The Reds could be teasing a hero’s return for ‘O Magico.’
