Liverpool star Salah drops transfer hint after Man City win title

Share

Liverpool missed out on the Premier League title this weekend by just one point after Manchester City defeated Brighton and Hove Albion 4-1.

Amongst the side’s accolades, Reds striker Mo Salah ended up sharing the Golden Boot award along with teammate Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of Arsenal.

Liverpool will surely be wanting Salah to remain with them for the long term. After shining last season and again this season, the Egyptian has proven that he is definitely among the best players in the world. He has been strongly linked with a move to Juventus. Juve star Cristiano Ronaldo reportedly also wants him to join the Old Lady of Italian football.

There is no doubt that Salah’s rise has coincided with Liverpool also transforming into one of the world’s best teams. After finishing as Champions League runners up last season, the Reds have once again reached the final of Europe’s premier club competition this season and will take on English rivals Tottenham in the final this season. Jurgen Klopp’s side may have narrowly missed out on the Champions League title last season but they will be favourites to claim the trophy this time around.

In what will be good news for Liverpool fans, Salah has seemingly put paid to the speculation linking him away from Anfield by indicating that he is looking forward to helping the club possibly win the league next season.

“We only lost one game all season,” the Egypt international said. “We gave everything. We got 97 points. We will fight next season for the title.”

Liverpool have been unlucky to be competing against a Manchester City side who are arguably one of the best in Premier League history. The Reds can hold their heads up high after posing a serious challenge to Guardiola’s charges this season.
