Report: Real Madrid considering move for Arsenal star

Share

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move for Arsenal star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, as per Fox Sports.

It was a tough season to be a Real Madrid fan. Having failed to challenge Barcelona domestically and suffering a shock Champions League exit at the hands of Ajax, Real Madrid will now undergo a major squad overhaul this summer as they aim to rebuild.

Zidane will be ready to get involved heavily in the transfer market. The club have been linked with a host of targets, though Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been suggested as the direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo who left the club last summer for Italian giants Juventus.

Bale on the move

Another player expected to leave Madrid this summer is Welsh star Gareth Bale. Struggling for form, the Welshman is reportedly surplus to requirements at the club and will be moved on this summer.

Notably, Madrid will be searching for a replacement. They reportedly do not want to spend in excess of €100 million and are considering a move for Aubameyang of Arsenal. The forward enjoyed a fine Premier League season with 22 goals, tied for the Golden Boot award with Liverpool pair, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. He will be a target for Europe’s elite this transfer window.

Arsenal trying to keep hold of Aubameyang

However, Arsenal will do whatever they can to keep hold of Aubameyang this summer. The African has been a big player for the Gunners this season and will be central to Emery’s plans. It will be very hard for any club to prize Aubameyang away from the Bernabeu at an affordable rate.

It should be an interesting summer transfer window where Madrid will be spending heavily in a bid to bolster their squad.
