Darren Bent issues warning to Spurs

Sky Sports pundit and former Tottenham striker Darren Bent has warned Spurs players who want to leave this summer that they will find it difficult to do so, due to the presence of chairperson Daniel Levy.

Several first-team players have been linked away from the team this summer. One man in particular whose future is the subject of speculation is midfielder Christian Eriksen.

It will be a huge blow for the North Londoners if they have to part ways with the Danish international this summer as he is widely regarded as being one of the most effective creative midfielders in the Premier League. Eriksen has been linked with a switch to Real Madrid as a possible replacement to Luka Modric who is set to depart from the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

Bent issues warning

England international Darren Bent, commented: “With Daniel Levy in charge, it’s going to be really, really difficult,” Bent told Sky Sports News. “Unless it’s 3/1 in favour of Spurs getting an unbelievable deal then the players have to stay there because we have seen it before, he won’t let his players go on the cheap.

“Also, he feels if the player belongs at Spurs football club, then he won’t let them go and let others pinch them for cheap money. He’ll sell them for big record fees like he has done before.

“That’s one thing they don’t have to worry about, them losing their main stars, because Daniel Levy won’t let it happen.”

Exciting summer ahead for the North Londoners

Spurs are set to have an interesting summer transfer window. After failing to make any signings during the past two windows, manager Mauricio Pochettino is set to be backed heavily this summer. One of the priorities will be to find a replacement midfielder for Moussa Dembele who left the club to join the Chinese Super League in January.
